What is Pickleball

Pickleball is a popular paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It is played on a court similar in size to a doubles badminton court, with a slightly modified tennis net. The game can be played indoors or outdoors on various surfaces.

Pickleball is played with a solid paddle and a plastic ball with holes, similar to a wiffle ball. The objective of the game is to hit the ball over the net, aiming to make it land within the boundaries of the opponent's court and prevent them from returning it. The game can be played in singles or doubles format.

The rules of pickleball are fairly straightforward. The serve is made diagonally, and the ball must bounce once on each side before players can hit it out of the air (this is known as the "non-volley zone" or "kitchen"). The ball is served underhand, and players must allow it to bounce before returning it. Once the ball has bounced on both sides, players can either volley it out of the air or let it bounce before hitting it.

Pickleball is known for being accessible to people of all ages and skill levels. It provides a good balance of physical activity and strategy, making it a popular choice for recreational play as well as organized competitions. The sport has been growing in popularity in recent years and has a strong community of enthusiasts around the world.
